About Clos des Saveurs
The Clos des Saveurs cellars are owned by Eric Artiguelongue who has made it his ambition to create a collection of the finest armagnacs, the range is considerable with vintages spanning from 1888 to 1990. The armagnacs are aged in barrels until they have reached their optimum quality and then stored in glass to maintain the peak condition.
Details
These fine armagnacs are collected by an old cellarmaster with vast experience and the quality is very high. The presentation is excellent and we are pleased that the firm use the traditional dark green basquaise bottles.
Additional Information
| Aroma | Interesting aromas of Kumquats and tarragon herbs with coriander to complement a lovely aroma |
|---|---|
| Distillation | Most armagnacs have been produced using the continuous still with a series of plates over which the wines boil until the optimum level when the volatile steam is captured and then condensed |
| Flavour | A great armagnac and for its age has many fine qualities including some citrus flavours of mandarin and banana with a spicey cumin and mace palate. |
| Viticulture | The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes |
