About Clos des Saveurs
The Clos des Saveurs cellars are owned by Eric Artiguelongue who has made it his ambition to create a collection of the finest armagnacs, the range is considerable with vintages spanning from 1888 to 1990. The armagnacs are aged in barrels until they have reached their optimum quality and then stored in glass to maintain the peak condition.
Details
We were taken with both the colour of very deep gold and a cedar like taste. There is a long well balanced finish of mace and tobacco
Additional Information
| Aroma | Mangosteen, lime peel and sultanas make this one of the nicest aromas in the range |
|---|---|
| Distillation | Most armagnacs have been produced using the continuous still with a series of plates over which the wines boil until the optimum level when the volatile steam is captured and then condensed |
| Viticulture | The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes |
