Cognac Masters 2011 - Masters Award
This Grande Champagne cognac is probably one of the finest cognacs we have ever tasted. It is produced by a firm in the centre of cognac who produce from three vineyards in the very best parts of the cru. The producer, Paul Beau, has a cognac featured under his own name, but this exceptional vintage cognac is exclusively only available through Brandyclassics.
Additional Information
| Aroma | This is an absolutely magical aroma which becomes apparent after it has stood for a while. There is fresh straw, mangosteen, kumquats, grapefruit peel, thyme, almonds and a host of other wonderful smells |
|---|---|
| Ageing | Aged in damp cellars in 350 litre casks for 43 years. The cellars are extensive and the firm has much experience in developing these fine cognacs |
| Distillation | This cognac was distilled in one of two 25 hltr stills with a relatively narrow head and short swans neck |
| Flavour | The taste is even more magical than the aroma. There is a tangy richness to this masterpiece of cognacs and a taste complexity of all the aromas and more. Coupled to all that there is a rancio which somehow enhances all the flavours, marrying them together in a totally balanced harmony |
| Grape Variety | Ugni Blanc |
| Reduction and Strength | Very small reduction to 44 degrees |
| Viticulture | Some of the finest chalk in the whole of Grande Champagne. Almost entirely Ugni Blanc |
