Albert Robin was established in 1860 as a 19th century negoҫiant. The Charrier family, owner of the firm, Albert Robin, the Château de la Morinerie and the Château de Plassay, has been involved in the production of cognac as landowners, vineyard owners or distillers in the Cognac region for more than 500 years. Nineteenth century cognacs, particularly those produced at the end of the century, are rare. This is largely because production had not recovered after the Phylloxera outbreak in 1874. Nevertheless, by the late 19th century, vinification and ageing skills had become much better understood and the quality of the cognacs improved accordingly.

Additional Information

Flavour Whilst our knowledge of these old cognacs is sufficient in many cases to make an educated assessment of their flavour, we are unable to taste many of these old brandies to be certain of their qualities.
