Concours des Armagnacs à Eauze 2004 - GOLD Medal
The Delord estate comprises a prime 20 hectare vineyard in the heart of the premier cru, Bas Armagnac. Their armagnacs are distilled at a low temperature during a slow distillation process which gives the spirit more flavour and character.
|Aroma||Oak, crystallised oranges and vanilla|
|Ageing||Aged in damp cellars.|
|Distillation||Distilled at around 54-58 degrees. Lower than other brandies, providing greater wine flavours but less refinement than cognacs.|
|Flavour||Dried flowers, fruits and notes of spices|
|Grape Variety||Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Baco.|
|Viticulture||The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes.|
