Armagnac distillation takes place in the heart of winter and Delord are one of the few houses using two methods of distillation; the continuous distillation method that is typical for Armagnac and double distillation.
|Aroma||Rose, vanilla and candied orange.|
|Ageing||Aged in damp cellars.|
|Distillation||Distilled at around 54-58 degrees. Lower than other brandies, providing greater wine flavours but less refinement than cognacs.|
|Flavour||Slight oaky notes with citrus and candied orange. A long finish.|
|Grape Variety||Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Baco.|
|Viticulture||The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes.|
