"Really expressive", "Very Complex" Judges comments

"Dive into this liquid flame, whose quality will set your very soul alight" Olly Smith, Journalist & TV Presenter

Displaying many of our Hermitage Provenance characteristics, this cognac has flavours of spice and coffee with pineapple in the background. Aged for a minimum of 10 years, its maturation in oak barrels has added to the complexity of this relatively young cognac.

Additional Information

Aroma This cognac has an aroma of mocha with roasted nut, some spice and just a hint of pineapple.
Ageing Aged in Limoursin oak barrels for over 10 years in fairly damp cellars. These conditions help to keep the spirit in contact with the natural tannins in the oak for longer
Distillation Double distilled on a small Charentais Alembic still as this helps to concentrate the wine flavours during distillation.
Flavour There are flavours of spice and coffee with pineapple in the background. Flavours which have become more complex as the cognac has matured.
Grape Variety Ugni Blanc and some Folle Blanche
Reduction and Strength Cognacs from the Grande Champagne age very slowly. Some gradual reduction has taken place to ensure that this cognac is sold at its best strength.
Viticulture The soil is chalky and porous, ideal for growing cognac vines as the roots can penetrate deep into the ground to find water.
