Cognac is one of the world’s most revered spirits, crafted through the distillation of wine made from specific grape varieties and aged in oak casks. As a category of brandy — a spirit distilled from fruit — Cognac holds a distinguished place alongside its French counterparts, Armagnac and Calvados. It is produced in the Charente and Charente-Maritime regions of western France, where approximately 700 to 800 producers operate across six crus. The most prestigious of these crus is Grande Champagne, renowned for producing Cognacs of remarkable finesse and longevity.
Brandyclassics is proud to offer a rare and curated selection of old Cognacs, with a particular focus on Hermitage Cognac — a collection of single estate, unblended, and naturally aged spirits sourced exclusively from Grande Champagne. These Cognacs mature slowly, often requiring six to seven decades in cask to reach their full complexity. In contrast, most commercial Cognacs are aged for only a few years and blended with sugar and caramel to soften their character.
Our collection showcases Cognacs of true provenance and purity — ideal for discerning collectors or as unforgettable gifts.
“The Hermitage Cognac I gifted for my partner’s 50th was beyond anything we expected — refined, beautifully presented, and a piece of history in a glass.” C. Linton
