The first origins of Baron de Sainte-Fauste go back to the reign of Henri IV when the king knighted Jean de Sainte-Fauste with the status, Baron de Sainte-Fauste, for services to the crown. Through time, the notoriety of the Sainte-Fauste family became worldwide, partly thanks to its famous coat of arms; a golden lion on a royal blue background, but principally thanks to its production of eau-de-vie, which, over time, became recognised for sublime quality Armagnac.

 - Flavour:
 - Bold, supple and very mellow with a good finish of roasted almonds
 - Grape Variety:
 - Mainly Ugni Blanc but a proportion of Baco is also used
 - Reduction & Strength:
 - Gradual barrel reduction.
 - Viticulture:
 - The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes
