Concours des Armagnacs à Eauze 2011 - Silver Medal
The bottling process, labeling, wax sealing and gold embossing of these wonderful Delord armagnacs are done by hand by a team of only two or three workers. Artisanal production at its best.
|Aroma||Stewed fig and quince, cocoa and vanilla.|
|Ageing||Aged in damp cellars.|
|Distillation||Distilled at around 54-58 degrees. Lower than other brandies, providing greater wine flavours but less refinement than cognacs.|
|Flavour||Toasted coffee, cocoa with notes of liquorice. Complex with a long finish.|
|Grape Variety||Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Baco.|
|Viticulture||The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes.|
