  1. Hermitage 25 Year Old Grande Champagne Cognac

Cognac Masters 2011 - Masters Award

    IWSC 2013 - Gold Award

This Grande Champagne cognac is produced by a firm in the centre of cognac who produce from three vineyards in the very best parts of the cru. It is a particularly complex 25 y.o. that has benefited from expert ageing in Limousin oak barrels. A multitude of aromas and flavours which develop in the glass , but only if you can manage to keep it in there long enough.

    Aroma:
Aroma: Initially there is a deep smell of kumquats and dried mandarin skins, but this is a wonderfully complex cognac with a multitude of aromas. The nose develops to nutmeg, roasted almonds, vanilla, coffee and melon and if you can resist drinking it you will be rewarded with many more delicious rich smells as it matures in the glass
    Flavour:
Flavour: The overall complexity of the flavours is retained from start to finish, with a slightly spicy addition appearing after the initial citrus flavour has developed on the palate. This is then followed by a development into dried almond and a hint of marrow. A superior Grande Champagne, complex and well balanced

  4. Dupont more than 30 Year Old Pays d'Auge Calvados
The 30 year old Dupont calvados is quite special as it has many fine qualities only associated with much older calvados. Dupont hs always made superb calvados and this is no exception. A very large difficulty with making calvados is the need to use pears for acidity which leave a pear drop flavour. In the 30 y.o. the pear drop aroma and flavour is not very noticeable and it is well balanced and smooth.
    Aroma:
Aroma: This is quite rich and fruity but not losing the apple aroma, combined with rose hip jelly and burnt raw tobacco
    Flavour:
Flavour: There is a smooth taste but there is a richness and style that is far superior to many other calvados products. Starts with a yeast dough flavour and develops into dried apple, finishing with mace. Good balance
