A taste of sweet baked apples with an over indulgent richness. There are 5 apple varieties with only 20% being picked from the tree the remainder are fallen apples with higher sugar content.
|Aroma||Wonderful aroma of Granny’s Fruit cake and sultanas.|
|Distillation||Cidre distilled in the same manner as cognac|
|Flavour||The flavour is of richly baked apples and sultanas|
|Grape Variety||Not a grape but cidre made from apples and perry pear. The apples come from 5 different varieties, 20% are picked and the rest are allowed to start dropping, thus allowing maximum sugar content. There is 12% pear added.|
|Viticulture||The mild and damp weather and clayed soil of the Pays d'Auge give the Château du Breuil ideal growing conditions for its 22,000 apple trees which surround the castle.|
