Frapin VSOP Decanter

Frapin has released its VSOP in a new decanter – taller and narrower than the original, it has different detailing on the neck and stopper. One could argue that it looks more like a bottle than a decanter. Frapin is the largest single estate in Grande Champagne (240 hectares) with a family history dating back to 1270. David has been in France again looking for more wonderful cognacs to add to the Hermitage Vintage Cognac stable. The latest introduction is a fabulous 30 Year Old Grande Champagne Cognac with rich nut, spice and coffee flavours. Created in 1952 in homage to the Nordic origins of its founder, Jens Reidar Larsen, the Drakkar Viking ship has become the symbol of the Cognac House. Brand new on the shelves this month is our latest Hermitage 60 Year Old Cognac. Camus Ile de Ré Fine Island

In an attempt to break into the Australian market Camus has released a new and unusual cognac named Ile de Ré Fine Island. Made on the island of Ré, a well known tourist destination and located at the most westerly tip of the cognac region, it is one of only a few cognacs produced in the Bois Ordinaire cru. Most of the ‘eau de vie’ produced in this area is used for making liqueurs with macerated fruits. Distilled during World War I, this Hermitage 1917 Limited Edition Vintage Cognac is a connoisseur’s dream.  It was made in a 25hl still and aged in medium, toasted oak for about 18 months before being transferred to old barrels.
