Cognac Masters 2017 – Gold Award

Made on a small 12 hectolitre still in the heart of Grande Champagne, this cognac provides great complexity. Flavours of clove, Marsala, wild cherry, mocha and roasted walnut are all apparent but others such as Brazil nut and citrus peel linger in the background. The flavour is enhanced by the slightly higher strength of 47%.

Grape Variety:
Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche
Reduction & Strength:
Very slow reduction with water.
The soil here is flatter than that around Segonzac and the Coniacian chalk is similar to that on which the town of Cognac is built. The weather here is at its most even with only nominal extremes of hot and cold and low rain fall.
