|Aroma||Rich, fruity nose|
|Ageing||All Castarede armagnacs are well aged in oak casks. The cellars are next to the Baise river ensuring that they are always damp.|
|Distillation||Single distillation at around 58 – 60 degrees. This provides more complex aromas and taste.|
|Flavour||Dried apricots, honeysuckle and baking spices.|
|Grape Variety||Mainly Colombard.|
|Reduction and Strength||Limited reduction with distilled water.|
|Viticulture||The climate is soft and humid with sunny autumns and the soil is made of siliceous clay which is poor in lime, giving Bas Armagnacs a lightness and fragrance with subtle tastes.|
