A Happy New Year

Happy New year This year at Brandyclassics, we are planning for some very special products following our success at the Cognac Masters in December 2011 with our Hermitage Pure Vintage Cognacs. Many of our customers will be well aware of the superb qualities of these fine cognacs and we are hoping to extend the range in 2012 to cover even more vintages and ages.

We will also be looking to build our brand in other countries and providing further help and support to our customers in China and Russia, where customers have been able to buy a range of cognacs with age statements for the first time.

One of our very finest cognacs, the Hermitage 43 year old Grande Champagne was one of the winners of the coveted Masters Medal. Hermitage really are the finest cognacs in the world. At Brandyclassics we would like to wish all our customers a happy and successful 2012.

Brandyclassics receive Grand Cognac Master 2011 title

Brandyclassics have just been awarded the prestigious title Grand Cognac Master at the Spirits Masters Awards in London. This was recognition of our achievements in the top three Categories at the 2011 judging, with all three entries being awarded a Masters Medal in their respective category.

The winners were: Superior - Hermitage 25 yo Grande Champagne, Vintage - Hermitage 1988 Grande Champagne, Prestige - Hermitage 43 yo Grande Champagne. The 43 yo is already available on the website and the 25 yo and 1988 are to be released early in 2012.

Cognac Masters 2010 - Hermitage Cognacs win multiple awards

Brandyclassics were awarded the prestigious Masters Medal in the Cognac Masters 2010 Competition for the finest cognacs. It was awarded to the Hermitage 1975 Grande Champagne. We also won a Gold Medal for the Hermitage 1999 Grande Champagne, a Gold Medal for the Hermitage 30 year old Petite Champagne and a Silver Medal for the Hermitage 10 year old. Our presentation boxes for the Hermitage old vintage cognacs also won a Gold Medal.

Armagnacs, the fruit of the Gascons

France’s oldest brandy, Armagnac is claiming its 700th birthday this year. Armagnacs are made from several grape varieties and distilled in the traditional Armagnaçais continuous single still. There are hundreds of small producers, who, unlike cognac, are not dominated by big houses. Vintages and age statements come much easier here and there are a wealth of producers each with fruity and delicious armagnacs.

Our pages are full of the very finest available such as the remarkable 5 year old from Cassagnoles, the wonderful vintages from Chateau de Bordeneuve, Castarede, Darbeau , Montal and our latest range from Clos des Saveurs who, like the famous Delord Armagnacs use the traditional Basquaise green bottle presentations. A unique collection of Pre-phylloxera and Early Vintages

Brandyclassics are closely associated with many old chais and cellars throughout the Charente region and have access to some of the very oldest cognacs known to man. Our stock of really old cognacs is in huge demand and is regularly required in the most luxurious hotels in the world. We never buy or sell these great monarchs of bygone years blind. There are many tests of both provenance and quality which we conduct before selling them.

The finest of all is from one of the earliest brandy producers, Massougnes, established around 1730 a firm associated in later years with French royalty. The big imperial three quarter gallon bottles of 1801 and 1805 are worth in excess of £100,000.
